The nickel-plated steel is robust and resistant, easy to clean and durable against potentially hazardous influences. The connection through two chain links only allows for minimally freedom of movement and therefore decreases the risk for attempts at flight and manipulation of the locks. The shackles themselves have 23 locking positions and due to this feature can be optimally adjusted to the circumference of the wrists.  

With a minimum of 150 and a maximum of 210 millimeters of the inner circumference the Smith & Wesson handcuff model M-100 P is fitting for smaller and average strong wrists.

Due to the chain and the low weight of only 290 grams the hand restraints can be easily stored and transported – while being within reach at all times. Because of this advantage the safety of police and security is heightened further.
Safety on both sides through Double Lock Function

The Smith & Wesson handcuff M-100 P is equipped with a double lock function. After the latching of the toothed shackle the function prevents the handcuff from being pushed into a tighter locking position as well as being pressed open. In difference to the handcuff model M-100 P the double lock function is positioned traditionally on the side of the shackle.

If the cuff is closed tighter together, injuries like cuts, contusions and bruises can be the possible results. If the cuffs can be opened or pushed to be looser attempts at flight or attacks can be made possible or more likely. Through the possibility of arresting and the double lock function those risks are effectively prevented, and the safety is heightened on both sides.
